It is with great sadness the family of Victor Marion Chelich announce his passing on July 8, 2020 at the age of 89.
"Victor Marion Chelich
May 21, 1931 - July 8, 2020
He will be ever loved and missed by his wife of 64 years, Alice (nee Blaskovits) and sons James, Elaine Carroll, Geoff and Bernard Chelich. His faith ensures he joins his daughter Anne-Marie Mills in heaven. Victor was father-in-law to Fred Mills and Chris Carroll and loving grandfather to Chelsa Mills, Fred Jr. Mills (Caroline Lieffers ), Dan Carroll (Rachel McLaughlin) and Megan Carroll (Ryan Labelle). Vic was born at home in Vanrena, 7 miles West of Fairview and lived a full and joyful life of 88 years in the community. He was the youngest son of Martin and Rose and brother to Jack (Mary), Joe (Thelma) and Leonard (Min). His father Martin was a farming pioneer and Chelich farms celebrated 100 years of continuous farming in 2013. Vic had great pride in growing grain to feed the world. He was an active athlete who loved hockey, baseball, golf and curling, which he played until the age of 87. There was only one thing more important in his life than his community and farm and that was his family. At age 88 Vic and his wife Alice moved to St. Albert to live closer to family. Although his health declined, his faith in our Lord and love for his family remained ever strong. A funeral mass with his immediate family, will be held on July 24, 2020 at 2:00 pm at St. Albert Catholic Church. You may join the service through live streaming via Connely- Mckinnley Funeral Home website. A celebration of his life and interment will follow at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Make a Wish Foundation."
