Anne Marie Fleckenstein

1Fairview Post, Newspaper of Fairview, Alberta, Canada.
"ANNE MARIE DOLL (nee Fleckenstein) - DECEMBER 04, 1929 – JANUARY 24, 2015 Anne passed away peacefully on January 24, 2015 at the age of 85 years old, surrounded by her family. Anne was one of twelve siblings born in Fox Valley, Sask. to Lukas & Rosa Fleckenstein. Early in her childhood, the family moved to Medicine Hat, Alberta, where Anne first entered the work force at MH Greenhouses. She traveled to Fairview, Alberta in 1950 to visit her sister, Christina, and while working for the Daniel Doll family, she met and eventually married Paul Doll. They farmed north of Fairview for the first few years of their life together and then relocated to the original Doll family farm in 1957. Anne was an industrious mother who raised three children, helped with life on the farm, ran her own small poultry business and, eventually went to work at the Fairview College for some fourteen years. She thoroughly enjoyed life at the Friedenstal farm, and took great pride in keeping their farm site pristine. She had many close friends in the community and at her work place in the college. Anne remained on the farm until 2004, when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer Disease. It was at that time her family relocated her to Canmore, Alberta, where she resided at the Golden Eagle View Care Facility, until her passing. Anne was predeceased by her husband, Paul in 1986 as well as by her parents Lukas & Rosa Fleckenstein, three sisters, Christina, Lydia and Marlene and by three brothers, Lukas, Emmanuel and John. Surviving Anne are her three sons, Herbert (Linda), Albert (Fran) and Wilbert (Cathy), five grandchildren Cheryl, Cindy, Leslie, Curtis and Lucas and six great grandchildren. A memorial and Celebration of Life followed by interment, will take place early this spring at the Friedenstal Cemetery. A notice will be placed in the Post newspaper prior to the date. In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations be given to the Canmore and Area Health Care Foundation, directed to the Golden Eagle View Care Center, 1100 Hospital Place, Canmore, AB T1W 1N2. Irvin Glen McAllister

"McALLISTER, Irvin
October 31, 1933 - January 26, 2022

Irvin was the 5th child of Hugh and Alice McAllister and was born on October 31, 1933, in Pouce Coupe, BC. A kind hearted guy, Irvin loved to tease and joke around. Everyone who knew him was well familiar with his mischievous grin and that twinkle in his eye. He had an easy going nature and visiting over a cup of coffee and cookie or a game of crib. His favourite show these past years besides curling has been "Just for Laughs", and as such, was no stranger to the odd little prank. He was well liked a respected member of the community for many years.

Irvin was married for just over 60 years to Rosalind "Linda" Doll. Beginning their life together, he worked on the Hart Highway as a grader operator keeping the Pine Pass open when it was first built. After moving back to Dawson Creek for a few years, they moved to Fairview where he went into farming full time. In 1980, they sold out and bought in Hines Creek where they continued to farm before retiring to Fairview. They later moved to Leduc and most recently, Grande Prairie for the last 4 years.

He was a counselor for the MD's of Fairview amd Hines Creek for a number of years and the REA. We all learned to curl as we took turns having us on his team through high school. He was President of the Hines Creek Curling Club for over 20 years. He is fondly remembered by his daughters, Glenna (Terry) Hartz, Carol (Dennis) Trenchard, Donna (Rob) Petrone, and sons, Brian (Yvonne) McAllister and Daryl McAllister, a special granddaughter, Jennifer McAllister, and grandchildren, Derek, Mark, Ryan, Amber, Lisa, Cory, Lacey, Bruce and Andrea and many great-grandchildren. On January 26, 2022, we said our goodbyes to our beloved Dad, Grandpa, Uncle and friend who was with us for 88 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Linda, his parents, Hugh and Alice McAllister, siblings, Pearl Isberg, Herb McAllister, Louise Fisher, Hugh (Bud) McAllister, Dorothy McMaster and son-in-law, Wayne Schultz.

We wish to thank the staff and friends at Emerald Gardens, Dr. Odufuwa, Colleen, Dr. Barrett, Dr. Keegan and the homecare nurses for their care. Funeral services will be planned for a future date. Should those remembering him wish to make a donation to Wapiti House (formerly known as Rotary House), mail to 10101-97A St, Grande Prairie, AB T8V 6Y1 or online at https://wapitihouse.ca/donate/

"DOLL, Katherina (Katie) Genefva - Katie Doll, longtime resident of Fairview, AB passed away on November 5, 2017 in Fairview at the age of 102 years. Katie was born on June 20, 1915 in Regina, SK to Frank and Elizabeth Heck. Katie spent her youth on a farm South of Bluesky and attended a country school at Little Burnt. As she was growing up she learned how to be a pioneer woman and worked diligently alongside her mother learning home making skills. Katie married Martin Doll in 1935 at St. Boniface Church in Friedenstal and the couple settled on a homestead near North Star, AB. Here they started their life together raising five children. In 1963, Martin passed away suddenly suffering a heart attack. Katie moved to Fairview in 1973 and started custodial work at the CIBC bank and after that went on to work at the Fairview Hospital in housekeeping. In 1981 Katie retired and moved to the Garrison Manor the day it opened. During her retirement years she enjoyed bowling, crocheting afghans, travelling, shopping and having coffee with her friends. She took pride in her houseplants and placed many ribbons at the flower show held at the Garrison Manor. She also enjoyed babysitting for many families in the community. When family visited Katie, her candy bowl was always full and always seemed to have little gifts tucked away in her closet to give to the children. Katie lived at the Garrison Manor for 26 years and in 2008 moved to the Fairview Harvest Lodge. In 2016 she moved into the Fairview Long Term Care facility. Katie was predeceased by her husband Martin Doll of 28 years. Brothers Wendelin, Philip, Fred and Joe. Sisters Margaret, Mary and Rose. Brothers-in-law Adolph Krapp and Nick Pohr. Sisters-in-law Monica Heck, Ida Heck, and Pauline Heck. Daughter-in-law Dalbir Doll and grandchildren Emanuel Doll, Jr. and Cathy Dechant. Katie is survived by her children Wendelin (Myrna), Elizabeth (Edward), Emanuel (Lynda), Kenneth, Martin (Debi) and sister-in-law Genevieve Heck. She was the loving grandmother to 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 7 great, great grandchildren. Funeral services for the late Katie Doll were held on November 13, 2017 at the St. Thomas More Church with Father Maurice Marion officiating. Interment followed at the Friedenstal Cemetery.
