Wayne Edward Schneider

"• Wayne Edward Schneider, resident of Fairview Alberta passed away at the age of 52 years at the Peace Country Health Complex in Fairview on Friday, December 24th, 2004. Wayne was born on July 19th, 1952 in Edmonton Alberta and was raised in Fairview. He attended the St. Thomas More School and was very active through his younger years as an altar server, a skater and a swimmer. He won many medals and trophies for his great achievements in skating and swimming competitions. Wayne always had a great interest in cooking and set forth to attend NAIT in Edmonton for training and successfully received his Red Seal Chef Certificate. His first position was at the Fairview College Cafeteria and then he accepted a position at the Peace River Correctional Institute as a Guard and Chef. Wayne and Bernice were married in 1974 and they lived in Peace River for a period of four years and then returned to make their home in Fairview. Wayne was offered a position at the Fairview IGA as Produce Manager and remained there for twenty-five years of employment. Over the years, when Wayne had some spare time, he enjoyed camping and fishing with his family. The hobbies he enjoyed were painting and wood working. He always showed such pride and precision in his work. He was always an expert when it came to planting flowers and gardening. When Wayne planted in his greenhouse, there was no question that we would ever be short of tomatoes or long English cucumbers. Wayne leaves to mourn his wife, Bernice, daughters, Tracy, Lisa and husband Jayme, Valerie and husband Aaron and two precious grandsons, Jaden and Eric. His mother Catherine; sisters Donna and Marlene; brothers Ken and wife Sheryl, Gerry and wife Lydia. Wayne has sixteen nieces and nephews and eleven great-nieces and nephews. Predeceased before him are Wayne's father Adolph; his grandparents Joseph and Anna Krapp and Anton and Philomena Schneider, aunts Emma Dechant, Sister Mary Celestine, Ledvina Soucie, Sister Katie Schneider, Mabel Zetaruk, Minnie Lahaie, Mary and Gertie Schneider, uncles Adolph and Florian Krapp, Joseph, Tony, Paul, Peter and Willie Schneider. Prayer services were held on December 28th and the Funeral Mass Service was held Wednesday, December 29th at the St. Thomas More Parish with Father Louis Suldana officiating. Burial followed at the Friedenstal Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Jayme Wasylciw, Aaron Schultz, Miles Coristine, Don Wasylciw, David Coristine and Bryan Schultz. All family and friends in attendance were considered Wayne's Honourary pallbearers. Honour Guard was the Knights of Columbus members. Music was presented by Louise Dart and Laura Miller and organist Marie Meashaw. The eulogist was Germaine Dechant and a special music selection by his wife and daughters "Dance with My Father". Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Moran Funeral Home, Fairview Alberta."
