"Mary Watchorn was born in Peace River on December 2, 1919 and passed away peacefully in Fairview Hospital on June 10, 2007 at the age of 87 years. Mary had many interests during her life, including numerous craft activities, bowling, and gardening. Mary is predeceased by her husband Clarence and her son Winston, who tragically went missing in a plane in 1961. Mary uncomplainingly and diligently carried on to successfully raise her remaining 6 children. Mary is survived by Chris (Wayne) Snelgrove of Westlock, Bill (Hilda) of Grande Prairie, Bruce (Colleen) of Fairview, Carol Fox (Don) of Red Deer, Stan (Betty) of Kelowna, B.C., Ted (Alda) of Millet, 17 grandchildren, and 28 grandchildren. The service was officiated by Reverend Ian Luke on June 13, 2007 at St. Helen's Anglican Church. Music was provided by Marie Meashaw and Annette Little. Mary was assisted to her final resting place in Waterhole Cemetary by her loving family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fairview Palliative Care or Long Term Care. The family wishes to thank Fairview Hospital Staff for the loving care provided during Mom's last days. God, take a message to our precious Mom up above Tell her we already miss her terribly And give her all our love."
