"• Phillipine Frances (Thelma) Fox, long time resident of the Whitelaw and Fairview went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2005, at the age of 86 years. Thelma was born on October 5, 1918 on the farm near Ermine, Sask. She moved with her husband, Joseph Fox and their three young children to the Whitelaw area in 1946. Ten more children were born while the family farmed in the Whitelaw area. She was an active member of the Catholic Church and the CWL. Her time was spent working in the home, in the garden, singing and visiting with family and friends. Once the children were more independent, she spent several years working at Boyts Department Store. The importance of family was very dear to her as mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. We will have many fond memories of her. She was a special person to all who knew her. Thelma is survived by 12 children; Ken (Eileen) of Red Deer, Don (Carol) of Fairview, Gwen (Wayne) of Calgary, Elaine of Clairmont, Marilyn of Peace River, Denise of Calgary, Helen of Marwayne, Sue (Dennis) of Grimshaw, Tim (Sandra) of Fairview, Pat of Vernon, BC, Robert (Dar) of Calgary and Dion (Anita) of Grande Prairie. Thelma is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Thelma was predeceased by her husband, Joe in 1982, daughter Karen in 1955, granddaughter Tracy, sister Violet, infant brother Joey, as well as her parents and two sons-in-law. Prayer services for Thelma Fox were held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Fairview on Sunday evening, February 6, at 7:30 p.m.. Funeral services were held on Monday February 7, 2005 at 10:00 am, with the Reverend Father Joe officiating. Active pallbearers were Joey Fox, Harlan Fox, Kyle Fox, Bill James, Dennis Ross and Len Watchorn. Thelmas honor guard was the CWL. Interment followed in the Friedenstal cemetery. Donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Moran Funeral Home of Fairview."
